The Southport and District Amateur Cricket League is fully committed to ensuring that cricket provides a safe, friendly and enjoyable experience for both children and adults.
Clubs should be aware that the England and Wales Cricket Board have published the Safehands Policy which introduces good practice. To download the document visit the following web site
: http://www.ecb.co.uk/ecb/safeguarding-children-and-child-protection/download-safe-hands,450,BP.html
The policy requires that any of the individuals listed on the attached document should carry out a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check.

As a league committee we say that implementing this policy is essential at all clubs. No longer will it be the responsibility of the league to determine whether abuse of a child or young person has taken place. Clubs should report any incident that results in verbal, physical or sexual assault on a person under the age of 18 years to the County Welfare Officer.
If you'd like to contact your County Welfare Officer, their details are provided below.
